Removal & Installation



Switch

Always check that the window switch control module and control module box connectors do not have bent or damaged terminals or sockets. This may be the cause of a fault in the system.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    The negative battery cable
     
    The ignition key
     
    The door panel
     
    The the nut and screw holding the window switch and door module in place
     
    The electrical connectors
     
    Pull up the rear edge of the window switch and door module
     
    Pull the control module backwards and upwards and detach. Disconnect the plastic catches

  4.  

To install:

  1. Position the window switch and door module in the hole on the door panel.
  2.  
  3. Check that the lower mounting for the control module is correctly located in the support on the door panel.
  4.  
  5. Press the window switch and door module into place.
  6.  
  7. Connect the electrical connectors.
  8.  
  9. Install the nut and screw that holds the window switch and door module in place.
  10.  
  11. Replace the door panel.
  12.  

Motor & Regulator
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Place window in fully raised position.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  6.  
  7. Remove or disconnect the following:

    The inside door handle using a weatherstrip tool
     
    The cover at the base of the door mirror
     
    The 2 screws holding door panel
     
    Pull off the door panel
     
    The electrical connectors at switch module
     
    The cable for the internal door handle
     
    The guide molding
     
    The guide rail

  8.  
  9. Secure the window using tape to keep window in raised position.
    NOTE
    The lift mechanism is correctly positioned for removal when the holes in the mechanism and in the arm are opposite each other.

  10.  
  11. Remove or disconnect the following:

    The 4 rivets holding the lift mechanism
     
    The lift mechanism
     
    The connectors for the power window motor and regulator
     
    The rivets holding the motor in place
     
    The motor and regulator
     

  12.  

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:
    NOTE
    Install new rivets in the numerical order illustrated.



    The motor and regulator into position. Install new rivets
     
    The connectors for the power window motor and regulator
     
    The lift mechanism. Install new rivets

  2.  
  3. Install or connect the following:

    Connect the connectors to the door module switches and power mirror switch
     
    The guide rail
     
    The 2 new rivets for the guide rail
     
    The guide molding
     
    The cable for the internal door handle
     
    Press the panel into place
     
    The 2 M6 screws. Tighten to 88 inch lbs. (10 Nm)
     
    The cover at the base of the door mirror
     
    The door handle. Press the front edge of the handle into position. Hold the handle in position and press in both sides

Diagnosis & Testing



Always check that the window switch control module and control module box connectors do not have damaged terminals or sockets. This may be the cause of a fault in the system.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the window switch and door module.
  6.  
  7. Inspect terminal for poor connections, loose wires, bent, broken, or corroded pins, and then verify that the connector is securely fastened.
  8.  
  9. Replace if faulty.
  10.
