Removal & Installation



Specific to:

Toyota Yaris 2007-2010

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the 4 nuts and the engine cover.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 ignition coils.

  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Toyota Yaris 2007-2010


NOTE
Cold and hot means the temperature of the coils themselves. Cold is up to 122°F, and hot is 122°F and above.

  1. To check that a spark occurs, first remove the ignition coils.
  2.  
  3. Using a spark plug wrench, remove the spark plugs.
  4.  
  5. Install each spark plug into an ignition coil and connect the ignition coil connectors.
  6.  
  7. Then disconnect the four injector connectors and ground the spark plugs.
  8.  
  9. Check that sparks occur at each spark plug while the engine is being cranked.
    NOTE
    Make sure to ground the plugs during testing.


    NOTE
    Do not crank the engine for more than two seconds.
