Removal & Installation



  1. Remove the front wheel.
  2.  
  3. Drain the brake fluid.
    NOTE
    Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.

  5. Remove the union bolt and gasket and separate the flexible hose from the disc brake cylinder.
  6.  
  7. Fix the slide pin with a spanner, remove the 2 bolts and remove the disc brake cylinder.
  8.  
  9. Remove the 2 disc brake pads from the disc brake cylinder mounting.
  10.  
  11. Remove the No. 1 anti squeal shim and No. 2 anti squeal shim from each brake pad.
  12.  
  13. Remove the indicator plate from each brake pad.
  14.  
  15. Remove the 4 disc brake pad support plates from the disc brake cylinder mounting.
  16.  
  17. Remove the slide pin (upper) and slide pin (lower) from the disc brake cylinder mounting.
  18.  
  19. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the slide bush from the slide pin (lower).
  20.  
  21. Remove the 2 dust boots from the disc brake cylinder mounting.
  22.  
  23. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the disc brake cylinder mounting from the steering knuckle.

  25. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  27. Observe and use the torque values in the illustration.
  28.  
  29. Lubricate in areas as shown in the illustration.
  30.  
  31. Fill reservoir with brake fluid.
  32.  
  33. Bleed master cylinder.
  34.  
  35. Bleed brake line.
  36.  
  37. Bleed brake actuator (with VSC).
  38.  
  39. Check fluid level in reservoir.
  40.  
  41. Check for brake fluid leakage.
  42.  
  43. Install front wheel.
  44.
