  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    NOTE
    Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.

  2.  
  3. Remove instrument panel finish panel end LH and RH.
  4.  
  5. Remove instrument cluster finish panel no.1.
  6.  
  7. Remove combination meter assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly center.
  10.  
  11. Remove radio tuner opening cover (w/o radio receiver).
  12.  
  13. Remove radio receiver assembly.
  14.  
  15. Remove air conditioner panel sub-assembly.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect air mix damper control cable sub-assembly.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect defroster damper control cable sub-assembly.
  20.  
  21. Disconnect air inlet damper control cable sub-assembly.
  22.  
  23. Remove front door opening trim weatherstrip RH.
  24.  
  25. Remove front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
  26.  
  27. Remove front pillar garnish RH.
  28.  
  29. Remove front pillar garnish LH.
  30.  
  31. Remove no. 1 switch hole base.
  32.  
  33. Remove glove compartment door assembly.
  34.  
  35. Remove upper instrument panel sub-assembly.
  36.  
  37. Remove front door scuff plate RH.
  38.  
  39. Remove front door scuff plate LH.
  40.  
  41. Remove instrument panel under cover sub-assembly RH.
  42.  
  43. Remove instrument panel under cover sub-assembly LH.
  44.  
  45. Remove cowl side trim board RH.
  46.  
  47. Remove cowl side trim board LH.
  48.  
  49. For M/T, remove the shift lever knob by twisting it counter clockwise.
  50.  
  51. For M/T, disengage the 6 claws and remove the shifting hole cover.
  52.  
  53. Disengage the 8 claws and remove the console box rear cover.
  54.  
  55. Remove the console box carpet.
  56.  
  57. Remove console box assembly rear:
    1. Remove bolt.
    2.  
    3. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the console box rear.
    4.

  59. Remove instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly lower:
    1. Disengage the 7 claws and open the instrument panel finish panel lower.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 2 screws and the instrument panel finish panel lower.
    4.

  61. Remove instrument panel box:
    1. Open the instrument panel box.
    2.  
    3. Pull the hinge side of the instrument panel box out horizontally with the instrument panel open and disengage the 2 hinges.
    4.  
    5. Remove the stopper of the instrument panel box from the cutout of the instrument panel lower and remove the instrument panel box.
    6.

  63. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the heater to register duct.
  64.  
  65. Disconnect the 2 antenna cord clamps.
  66.  
  67. Disengage the 3 claws and separate the hood lock control lever.
  68.  
  69. Remove lower instrument panel sub-assembly:
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3 connector.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the clamps and connectors.
    4.  
    5. Remove the 5 <D>bolts, 2 <E>bolts, screw <G>and screw <H>and remove the lower instrument panel.

  71. Remove power outlet socket assembly.

  75. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the outer mirror switch.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    NOTE
    Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.

  3. Remove instrument panel cup holder RH:
    1. Open the instrument panel cup holder.
    2.  
    3. Flex both sides of the instrument panel cup holder and disengage the 2 stoppers.
    4.  
    5. Disengage the spring.
    6.  
    7. Remove the instrument panel cup holder by moving it toward either the inside or the outside of the vehicle and disengaging the 2 hinges one at a time.
    8.

  5. Remove instrument panel cup holder spring RH.
  6.  
  7. Remove instrument panel cup holder LH:
    1. Open the instrument panel cup holder.
    2.  
    3. Flex both sides of the instrument panel cup holder and disengage the 2 stoppers.
    4.  
    5. Remove the instrument panel cup holder by moving it toward either the inside or the outside of the vehicle and disengaging the 2 hinges one at a time.
    6.

  9. Remove instrument panel cup holder spring LH.
  10.  
  11. Remove instrument panel finish panel lower center.
  12.  
  13. Remove instrument panel finish panel end LH and RH.
  14.  
  15. Remove instrument cluster finish panel no.1.
  16.  
  17. Remove combination meter assembly.
  18.  
  19. Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips and remove the instrument cluster panel center.
  20.  
  21. Remove the 4 screws and remove the stereo opening cover (w/o Radio Receiver).
  22.  
  23. Remove radio receiver assembly.
  24.  
  25. Remove air conditioning panel assembly.
  26.  
  27. Disconnect air mix damper control cable sub-assembly.
  28.  
  29. Disconnect defroster damper control cable sub-assembly.
  30.  
  31. Disconnect air inlet damper control cable sub-assembly.
  32.  
  33. Separate front door opening trim weatherstrip RH.
  34.  
  35. Separate front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
  36.  
  37. Remove front pillar garnish RH.
  38.  
  39. Remove front pillar garnish LH.
  40.  
  41. Remove glove compartment door assembly.
  42.  
  43. Remove upper instrument panel sub-assembly.
  44.  
  45. Remove front door scuff plate RH.
  46.  
  47. Remove front door scuff plate LH.
  48.  
  49. Remove instrument panel under cover sub-assembly LH.
  50.  
  51. Remove instrument panel under cover sub-assembly RH.

  53. Remove cowl side trim board RH.
  54.  
  55. Remove cowl side trim board LH.

  57. Remove shift lever knob sub-assembly (for Manual Transaxle)

  59. Remove upper console panel sub-assembly.

  61. Remove console upper rear panel sub-assembly.

  63. Remove console box carpet.

  67. Remove instrument pad lower LH and RH:
    1. Remove screw.
    2.  
    3. Disengage the claw and 3 clips and remove the instrument panel pad lower.
    4.

  69. Remove instrument panel lower finish panel sub-assembly:
    1. Disengage the 7 claws and open the instrument panel lower finish panel.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 2 screws and remove the instrument panel lower finish panel.
    4.

  71. Remove instrument panel box:
    1. Open the instrument panel box.
    2.  
    3. Pull the instrument panel box out horizontally with the instrument panel open and disengage the 2 hinges.
    4.  
    5. Remove the stopper of the instrument panel box from the cutout of the instrument panel lower and remove the instrument panel box.
    6.

  73. Disconnect the 5 antenna cord clamps.
  74.  
  75. Disengage the 3 claws and separate the hood lock control lever.
  76.  
  77. Remove lower instrument panel sub-assembly:
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3 connector.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the clamps and connectors.
    4.  
    5. Remove the 6 <D>bolts, 2 <E>bolts, screw <G>and screw <H>and remove the lower instrument panel.
    6.

  79. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  81. Remove the 3 screws and the RH and LH instrument panel cup holder.

  83. Disengage the claw and remove the glove compartment door stopper.
  84.  
  85. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the outer mirror switch.

  87. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the light control rheostat.
  88.  
  89. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the stereo jack adapter.
  90.  
  91. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the panel seal.
  92.  
  93. Remove the safety pad.
  94.  
  95. Remove the safety pad.

Upper Instrument Panel
Hatchback

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    NOTE
    Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.

  2.  
  3. Remove instrument RH and LH panel finish panel end.
  4.  
  5. Remove instrument cluster finish panel no.1.
  6.  
  7. Remove combination meter assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove LH and RH front door opening trim weatherstrip.
  10.  
  11. Remove RH and LH front pillar garnish.
  12.  
  13. Disengage the 2 clips and 2 claws and remove the switch hole base.
  14.  
  15. Remove glove compartment door assembly:
    1. Slightly deform the upper part of the glove compartment door assembly to release the 2 stoppers and open the glove compartment door assembly until it becomes horizontal.
    2.  
    3. Pull the glove compartment door assembly out horizontally to disengage the hinge portion and remove the glove compartment door assembly.
      NOTE
      Pull the glove compartment door out horizontally, otherwise, installation failure caused by excessive play around the hinge portion will result.

  17. Remove upper instrument panel sub-assembly:
    1. Slide the slider and disconnect the passenger airbag connector.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the clamp.
    4.  
    5. Remove the 2 <C>bolts and 4 <B>screws.

    7. Disconnect the connectors.
    8.  
    9. Disengage the claw and 3 clips while lifting the rear instrument panel up.
    10.  
    11. While lifting the instrument panel, slide it toward the rear of the vehicle. Disengage the 5 claws of the front side of the instrument panel and remove the instrument panel.
    12.

  19. Remove no. 1 instrument panel box door sub-assembly:
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2.  
    3. Pull the instrument panel box door toward the rear of the vehicle, disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips and remove the instrument panel box door.
    4.

  21. Remove no. 2 instrument panel box door sub-assembly:
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2.  
    3. Pull the instrument panel box door toward the rear of the vehicle, disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips and remove the instrument panel box door.
    4.

  23. Remove screw and remove the cup holder spring.
  24.  
  25. Remove no. 1 and 2 instrument panel cup holder:
    1. Slightly deform portion of the cup holder by pressing it and release the stopper.
    2.  
    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, prize the hinge portion of the cup holder from side to side while being careful not to apply excessive load to the axis of the instrument panel upper, and remove the cup holder.
    4.

  27. Remove the 2 screws and remove the no. 2 and 1 register duct.
  28.  
  29. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the no. 1 instrument panel register assembly.
  30.  
  31. Remove front passenger airbag assembly.
  32.  
  33. Remove the instrument panel cushion from the instrument panel upper.
  34.  
  35. Remove no. 1and 2 instrument panel cushion from the instrument panel upper.
  36.  
  37. Remove the two no. 3instrument panel cushions from the instrument panel upper.
  38.  
  39. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  3. Remove instrument panel finish panel lower center.
  4.  
  5. Remove instrument panel finish panel end LH and RH.
  6.  
  7. Remove instrument cluster finish panel no.1.
  8.  
  9. Remove combination meter assembly.
  10.  
  11. Separate the RH and LH front door opening trim weatherstrip.
  12.  
  13. Remove front LH and RH pillar garnish.
  14.  
  15. Remove glove compartment door assembly:
    1. Disengage the claw and separate the 2 glove compartment door stoppers from the glove compartment door.
    2.  
    3. Slightly flex the upper part of the glove compartment door to release the 2 stoppers and open the glove compartment door assembly until it becomes horizontal.
    4.  
    5. Pull the glove compartment door assembly out horizontally to disengage the hinge portion and remove the glove compartment door.
      NOTE
      Pull the glove compartment door out horizontally, otherwise, installation failure caused by excessive play around the hinge portion will result.

  17. Remove upper instrument panel sub-assembly:
    1. Slide the slider and disconnect the passenger airbag connector.

    3. Disconnect the clamp.

    5. Remove the 2 <C>bolts and 2 <B>screws.

    7. Disengage the 7 clips by lifting the rear side of the instrument panel up.
    8.  
    9. While lifting the instrument panel, slide it toward the rear of the vehicle. Disengage the 5 claws from the front side of the instrument panel and remove the instrument panel.
    10.

  19. Remove the 2 screws and remove the no.2 register duct.
  20.  
  21. Remove the 2 screws and remove the no. 1 register duct.
  22.  
  23. Remove no. 1 instrument panel register assembly. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the register.
  24.  
  25. Remove the front airbag assembly.
  26.  
  27. Remove the instrument panel cushion from the upper instrument panel.
  28.  
  29. Remove the no.1 instrument panel cushion from the upper instrument panel.
  30.  
  31. Remove the no. 2 instrument panel cushion from the upper instrument panel.
  32.  
  33. Remove the no. 3 instrument panel cushion from the upper instrument panel.
  34.  
  35. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
