Brake Drum Bar

Brake Drum Bar Operation:

This device, also known as parking brake strut, holds brake shoes against the inside of drums when the parking brake lever or pedal is used. This bar is notched to fit a corresponding indention in the web of the brake shoe that holds it in place as pressure decreases by the release of the emergency brake.
