Air Charge Sensor

Air Charge Sensor Operation:

Usually located in the intake manifold, it measures the temperature of incoming fresh air and then relays this information to the computer. When the outside air is cold, the air charge sensor signals the ECC (engine control computer) also known as ECM (engine control module) or ECU (electronic control unit) to enrich the fuel/air mixture. When the outside air is warm, it signals the ECC to lean out the fuel and air mixture.
