Timing Tensioner

Timing Tensioner Operation:

Many engines with chain driven and all engines with belt-driven camshafts use a tensioner.The tensioner pushes against the belt or chain to keep it tight. This serves to keep it from slipping on the sprockets, provide more precise valve timing, and compensate for component stretch and wear.
