Heater Core

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION



  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
  4.  
  5. Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the wiper linkage from the wiper motor.
  8.  
  9. Detach both heater hoses at the heater core.
  10.  
  11. Remove the lower center console.
  12.  
  13. Remove both instrument panel insulators.
  14.  
  15. Remove the heater outlet module screws, and the heater cover.
  16.  
  17. Remove the heater core mounting clip screw, and the heater core line clamp screw.
  18.  
  19. Carefully pull the heater core from the case.
  20.  
  21. If necessary, remove the foam seals on the heater core module for transfer to the replacement core.
  22.  
  23. If necessary, remove the heater core line clamp for transfer to the replacement core.

To install:
  1. Installation is the reversal of the removal process. Tighten the mounting screws to 27 inch lbs. (3 Nm).
