Better Luck the Second Time Around. Still, Buy With Confidence!

I chose the rebuilt pump from Duralast because I usually have good results with the parts from Autozone. Well, you can't get it right all the time, and the first pump was noisy regardless of how many times I bled the system, including using the recommended vacuum bleeding procedure. Autozone provided a replacement pump, no questions asked. This pump seems to work like a charm! The pump includes a new o-ring for the high-pressure hose connection. Product was as described, high quality rebuild (except for the problem with the first pump). Autozone provides great customer service from knowledgeable associates (5 Stars!!).

    Installation tips:
    1. You will need the pulley removal tool available through the tool lending program to remove the pulley from the old pump and install it to the new pump. The tool is easy to use.
    2. Do not over-torque the pump mounting bolts! They screw right into the soft threaded aluminum mounting bracket which is easy to strip! Stripped threads can be repaired using a heli-coil, but that's additional work and expense!
    3. Buy new high pressure and low pressure hose assemblies. Chances are you will need to cut off the old hoses if they've been on there a couple decades.
    4. Vacuum bleed system. Instructions can be found online.
    5. This is a moderately easy repair for an experienced hobbyist.

Pros: Purchases tracked in-store for easy warranty claims, professional associates, tool loan program

Cons: Rebuilt part had to be removed and returned for warranty
