Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Alternator
It's important to change your Chevy Silverado 1500 alternator when you think it's going bad. Undercharging and overcharging can seriously damage the battery, eventually leaving you stranded. Dim lights and a faulty electrical system are also signs of a bad alternator. If your vehicle stalls, it usually means that the alternator can't supply power as it should.

Alternator Install

Replacing and Installing an alternator is quite easy for anyone that are willing to get their hands dirty. Note that some of these alternators can be defective when purchasing because they are remanufactured but keep your receipt just in case. While installing the alternator make sure you disconnect the negative battery always to keep yourself safe. The install was easy but you might have just a bit of trouble taking the alternator out so just have a pry tool around but once you’ve taken it out the easy part is over. Now trying to fit the alternator back in while trying to line up the holes to the bracket and alternator have can be a bit tricky but it isn’t an impossible task. Bolt it up, plug the wires back in and your back on the road. Again if you need assistance on how to replace an alternator just youtube a video of your exact photo and use some elbow grease.

This alternator's voltage regulator placement needs to be verified before you leave the store. I found mine to be assembled approximately 15 degrees off. The clock location of the voltage regulator plug has to be correct or could result in damage to the voltage regulator plug on the manifold.
