Dodge 1500 Alternator

Every Dodge vehicle relies on an alternator to produce AC electricity and turn it into DC electricity for use by various components and parts like your electric steering system, your engine starter, and your headlights. Although some alternators last for their vehicles' lifespans, others will need to be replaced at some time. You can find the right Dodge 1500 alternators and charging system parts for your needs at AutoZone from brands like Duralast and Bosch.

It's usually time to change your Dodge 1500 alternator if you notice signs like a dead battery or difficulty starting your vehicle. If your car stalls frequently, or if your headlights are overly dim or bright, those are additional signs that the alternator isn't working properly and can't direct electricity as it should. Naturally, a battery warning light on the dashboard may also indicate that the alternator should be swapped out soon.

    Replacing a Dodge 1500 Alternator

You can replace any Dodge 1500 alternator in an hour or two, typically. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then locate your vehicle's alternator on the front of the engine. Next, remove the drive belt, drive belt tensioner, and any other potentially interfering components, including electrical wiring. Then just unbolt the old alternator, place the new alternator in the same spot, and reverse the process. Wrap up by reattaching the electrical harness and drive belt.

AutoZone has the perfect Dodge 1500 alternators for your needs. Filter through the available parts by year, make, model, and engine size, then either pick up your part with Same-Day In-Store Pickup and Free Next-Day Delivery on eligible orders.

Well my truck ran on the original starter for 27 yrs. wow..way to go Dodge. Anyway getting it off was a totally nightmare. The new one went on easy and cranked right up. So far no issues but its only been a day or so. I highly recommend a NEW one over a rebuilt anyday. EVERY single rebuilt i've had always had to be replaced at least once. This is my second NEW part to purchase and i have not had any issues. Go new if you can. Also found stores don't really carry new ones..so gotta order online...UGH.

It was sold to me without looking in box. Luckily I opened it before I left. Covered in grease and connector broken. Ordered me another one. Great service
