Ford Explorer Alternator

Your Ford Explorer alternator is a crucial part of your vehicle's electrical system. The battery supplies power to the truck's lights and accessories while driving. The Ford Explorer alternator is responsible for charging the battery. Without the alternator charging the battery, it likely wouldn't start the next time you turn the key. Overcharging and undercharging can do serious damage to the battery. Get your replacement Ford Explorer alternator from AutoZone today and receive Free Next-Day Delivery on eligible orders and Same-Day In-Store Pickup.

Ford Explorer alternators are very durable but will eventually wear out. Any sign of a faulty battery is likely a sign of a bad alternator. Dim lights and delaying electrical accessories are signs that your alternator is not working, but the most obvious sign of a bad alternator is if your vehicle only starts with jumper cables. If you're constantly boosting your battery, shop AutoZone by year, make, model, and engine size to get the perfect replacement Ford Explorer alternator.

            Replacing a Ford Explorer Alternator

You must disconnect the negative battery terminal to replace a Ford Explorer alternator. You can remove the serpentine belt at the front of the engine compartment. At this point, removing the air intake vents will give you more room to work. You might need a small pry bar to slide the alternator out of place. You can now unbolt the old alternator and replace it with a new Ford Explorer alternator from AutoZone.
