      About

      2007 Honda Civic Alternator

To provide power to your car's electrical systems and to charge your battery, it's equipped with a 2007 Honda Civic alternator. It isn't good if the alternator isn't working, and it can cause strange symptoms and leave you questioning its reliability. The best solution is often a replacement part, and you'll find 2007 Honda Civic alternators and charging system diagnostic equipment in stock at AutoZone.

      How Does an Alternator Work?

Another name for an alternator is a generator since its role is to generate an electrical current. Using energy transferred to the alternator pulley by the serpentine belt, a rotor with magnets spins within a stator to create an electrical field. The rectifier converts it to usable direct current so it can be delivered across fused circuits. Some of the power is directed to the battery, replenishing the power that's drawn when the engine is off.

      When to Change Your Alternator

An alternator for 2007 Honda Civic models can fail unexpectedly, often after years of use. When that occurs, symptoms may consist of a battery light coming on, random electrical issues, a burning odor, or whining or growling noises under the hood. When it no longer charges enough, you could have a dead battery or your car could stall.

2007 Honda Civic Alternator Replacement Cost

Diagnosing and replacing an alternator is a job that takes a couple of hours or less typically. It's a job many DIYers are comfortable tackling, saving some money on labor costs. The new alternator can range in price from around $125 to $350 depending on factors like your amperage requirements, the warranty, and the brand you choose.

AutoZone carries a range of alternators and 2007 Honda Civic batteries and alternators to keep you up and running. Filter the search results by year, make, model, and engine size to see the parts you need from popular brands like Bosch and Valucraft. Need them fast? No problem. Took my car to Autozone for battery/charging inspection. Found out charge wasn't holding, got an alternator and switched it out myself. Car is turning and starting fine now.

      Great Remanufactured Alternator

      in 5 months

Great Remanufactured Alternator that does what it is supposed to running at 14.4v (no instruments/accessories - unloaded) and 14.17v (with all accessories on - loaded). This runs about .20v - .25v better than OEM. I always go with new, after reading reviews, I thought to take a chance and it was well worth the fairly large savings over the new one. Duralast is a great brand and I have used them for over 15 years with zero issues. Great product Autozone with an excellent OEM snug fit! This is a very well remanufactured item (just do not be fooled or mad that it is remanufactured in Mexico. Solid quality and solid part. I will update this review in a few months...

The night before a holiday, my son called at 10 PM and said "Dad, my car just died." Battery replaced 6 months ago, meter showed 12.4 volts. This part was in stock, and an easy install. (You'll need a 19mm box wrench and another bigger one for the serpentine belt. Watch some how-to videos.) Once replaced, 14.5 volts. All the factory "stuff" from the old one fit perfectly. Very happy.
