I trust Bosch for the name and 2 year warranty. Bought two of them. One at full price then I saw 20% off so bought a 2nd.
The bracket on the alternator on one of the alternators was too narrow and it would not fit on the block of the engine (see attached image). Its the bracket where the longer bolt or the top bolt that connects the alternator to the engine block. On the alternator bracket there is a welded nut so when you thread in the bolt the nut will not turn. On one of the alternators that nut was protruding ~ 1-2mm too much on the inside of the bracket causing it not to fit on the engine block.
Luckily I bought two as the 2nd alternator this fitment wasn't an issue.
On BOTH alternators screwing in the top bolt was a bit more difficult than I would expect. With the alternator out I tried hand threading the bolt to ensure the threads on the alternator were the right ones and I could not hand tighten the bolt. Using a ratchet I had to use a little bit of strength to turn the bolt in. It did not strip the bolt or the threads on the alternator. Eventually the bolt went in just fine without stripping.
If your installing on 2005 camry dont take the belt off or on from the alternator. Take the belt off and then put it back on the pulley that is below the alternator. Makes it tons easier.
