Symptoms of a Failing Accord Battery

The first step to replacing your battery is to identify the signs of a failing battery. Understanding these signs can help keep you safe, especially if you end up stranded on the side of the road because the battery died. Not only is this an inconvenience, but also potentially unsafe if you aren't prepared.

Signs that you should look for include rust or corrosion on the battery terminals, a swollen or leaking battery case, and a slow cranking engine that gets progressively worse despite weather conditions improving. When these symptoms get worse, you will need to consider replacing your battery.

What Kind of Battery Should I Buy?

There isn't just one factor that influences the type of battery you should purchase for your Accord. Choosing a new battery is easy when you look at what you need, including warranty length, the power needed for the engine, and the overall battery life. If you aren't sure what to buy, a store associate can help. Or you can enter your vehicle's details at the top of this page and we'll only show you the parts that fit.

The Size of Your Battery

There are different places you can look for the battery size of your 2003 Honda Accord, but the easiest way to get the information is to go to your local AutoZone or online. One vital piece of information that may be needed is the cold-cranking amps and reserve charge; these can be found on your current battery.

Accord Battery Prices

The 2003 Accord battery price depends on certain factors, including size, warranty, power, quality, and battery brand. Most Accord batteries range in price from $100 to $250, but the actual price will vary based on those features and warranties you choose. Our knowledgeable staff can help you find the exact battery you want and need, all at a price you can afford.

Excellent upgrade for 2003 Accord!

Jason

in a month

I bought this battery in order to maintain my group 51R to group 35 battery upgrade that I had done about 3 years ago. The car is a 2003 Honda Accord LX with the 2.4 L 4-cylinder engine. This car originally came with a group 51R battery, which is underpowered for cranking the car during cold winter days. I had found the upgrade how to guide on YouTube, and followed it in order to install the previous battery which was a optima 35. I did enjoy the performance, but it degraded quickly. So I did research on what would be better, and found the Odyssey group 35 performance battery was available. I installed it in about 15 minutes, and my high crank speeds came back and I don't lose voltage, and I don't have light dimming issues when I turn on the air conditioner, radio, or other electronics. This is a very easy upgrade to do to a 4-cylinder 7th generation Accord, and there are many videos on YouTube going over how to do it. I recommend this battery because even though it is very heavy for a group 35, it cranks extremely well and has a lot of power to run lights radios and other items. It has no problems in a basic Accord, and I don't think it would have any problems in even an upscale with navigation 7th generation Accord. Highly recommended, even though it's expensive, with great warranty. I highly recommend the AutoZone in levittown New York, because their customer service is excellent. They have great service and a great selection and that's where I bought this battery. If you can afford it it will not disappoint. Just make sure that if you do the upgrade in a 4-cylinder Accord that you get the correct battery bay, heat shield, j hooks, and battery tie down in order to make the upgrade look as factory as possible. Would definitely do again.

Plenty of CCA for 2003 Accord LX

Daniel

in 10 months

I purchase this battery as a compliment to an alternator replacement on my 2003 Honda Accord LX (4Cyl). Today was the battery's first time starting the vehicle in single-digit temperatures, and I am glad to say it works flawlessly. No hesitation; engine turns right over and starts. Couldn't be happier.
