About

2002 Honda Civic Car Battery

The electrical requirements in a car are quite high and 2002 Honda Civic batteries provide the reserve power to operate systems and start the motor when the engine is off. If you're having trouble getting your car running or you're noticing strange electrical symptoms, it could be a problem with the battery. It's usually a simple fix, and AutoZone has What It Takes To Do The Job Right with parts like your 2002 Honda Civic battery in stock.

2002 Honda Civic Battery Size

The right battery size must be purchased or there could be fitment issues. The battery terminals could be positioned opposite to your needs or the cranking amps could be insufficient. Or, the battery might simply be the wrong shape or size to fit in your car. For the correct height, length, and width, choose a battery designated as a Group 51 or a Group 28 that will work as an exact replacement.

Symptoms of a Bad Battery

Car batteries have a finite life, and most will last only three to five years. When the battery isn't working at its full capacity any longer, symptoms will begin to develop that can involve slow cranking, dim or flickering headlights, slow power windows, or electrical systems that stop working intermittently. You may also need to jump-start your car.

Replacement Cost for Honda Civic 2002 Battery

The battery for 2002 Honda Civic models is one of the repairs most people can do themselves, but it's also a fast repair for a mechanic. Labor costs are typically around a half hour. The battery itself will vary in price depending on the style, grade, and warranty you choose, ranging from around $90 to $300 or more.

Find parts that fit your car perfectly when you filter by year, make, model, and engine size to locate 2002 Honda Civic batteries, starting and charging components at AutoZone. Choose from popular brands like Duralast and Optima with Free In-Store or Curbside Pickup for eligible orders.

This battery rocks!

Everything about this battery has helped my car. The lights are brighter inside the cab, and even my key fob started working again to lock and unlock my doors which was odd. I also found that my car fires up quicker and seems to get even better gas mileage. That battery was the best purchase I've made yet.

Very great batteries for my 02 Civic

My previous duralast battery was still going strong for 6 years but I decided to be safe and upgrade my battery to the Gold Duralast battery. Just make sure that when you buy this battery at AutoZone, that the battery terminals are in the correct position. My previous Duralast battery, I dealt with incorrect battery terminal positions for all 6 years because I did not know it mattered to a T. The AutoZone worker gave me the wrong battery terminals 6 years ago and I was anware until I learned further about my car. My positive is supposed to be on the top right of the battery and the negative on the top left. Whereas the AutoZone worker that installed my previous battery had the positive terminal on the bottom right and the negative on the bottom left, which made contact with the metal hood holder stick and the positive terminal. Only that I dealt with it over the years by always carefully placing my hood stick in a place where it didn't made contact. So, my advice is to simply get to know exactly what type of battery you need, including the positions of the terminals because you cannot expect each and every AutoZone worker to know every car.
