The Signs of a Dying Battery

When your battery dies it can be an inconvenience, but not only that you can end up in a potentially unsafe situation. When you replace your Honda Civic battery, most will last for three to five years depending on the frequency of use and select environmental factors.

The signs your battery is failing may include the “check engine” light coming on, corrosion or rust on your battery’s terminals, and a swollen battery case. In addition to these, your car may be slow to start; if this is the case, you may need to have your battery tested to determine if it needs to be charged or replaced.

How to Choose a New Battery

Several factors go into finding a new battery for your 2009 Honda Civic; including the size, price, number of lead plates, the length of the warranty, and expected battery life. You can find out more about how to choose the right battery by coming into your local AutoZone and speaking to a store associate who can help with your purchase. If you enter your vehicle's details at the top of this page, we'll only show you the parts that fit.

Mid grade battery

Kevin

in a year

I usually go with the mid-grade battery that AutoZone carries and never have a problem. I have this battery in my vehicle for 2 years and it failed. my warranty information was easily found in the computer. The mid grade battery was not in stock so I upgraded to the duralast Gold for a few dollars more. The longest AutoZone battery I have ever had in a car was 9 years without failing.

The mid-grade battery died after 2 years. It was in free replacement. The battery was not in stock for the free exchange unless I went to another store. I did not feel like driving around so I upgraded to the duralast Gold for a few dollars more.
