Stay Charged to Avoid Being Stranded
When you put your key in the ignition and turn it, you expect the engine to start. If dreaded clicks are heard instead, it might be time to start looking for the best battery for Toyota Camry. These rechargeable parts start the electrical current needed to get going. If operating properly, the engine recharges it when running. Unfortunately, number of factors can contribute to draining its energy.
Is It Time for a Replacement?
Age, corrosion and human error are often the main culprits in a battery losing its ability to store energy. Most batteries have a lifespan of three to five years. Cold weather, leaving the lights on or letting it sit idle for extended periods of time can slowly decrease the amps necessary for it to do its job. Once that starts happening, there are typically signs before it completely goes dead.
- Engine is slow to start
- Lights are dimmer than normal
- Check engine lights pops on
- A strange smell is emitted when opening the hood
- Visible corrosion on connectors
- Battery case is cracked or losing its proper shape
Choosing the Right Fit
When it is time to find the right battery for your Toyota Camry, AutoZone is there to help. Batteries come in an array of sizes, cell types and brands, as well as different warranties. Along with providing the best reviews on batteries, our experts can help you determine the right fit for your budget.
The first step in finding a replacement is to determine battery case measurements and orientation of the terminals. This information can typically be found on the existing battery or in the owner's manual. Group sizes typically include two numbers and a letter. Additionally, your ride needs specific amounts of amps to work. Known as the CCA number, this can also be found on the battery or in the manual.
Cell type is another consideration. Many are feature the standard lead acid with lead plates for positive and negative. Often less expensive, these types have withstood the test of time and are the most common. There are also enhanced flooded batteries and absorbent glass mat batteries. EFBs often are more durable and resistant to discharges, as well as last longer. AGMs tend to be the highest quality and price. They are geared more toward people who enjoy off-roading and putting their vehicle to the test.

I was asked immediately if I needed any assistance with anything as soon as I walked in the door! My AutoZone is the Hemby Bridge location and the employee that helped me was "Adam". He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. He put my new windshield wipers on and also installed my new battery. Was very friendly and easy to talk to. He definitely deserves a nice bonus. I work in customer service and ALOT of people are very unfriendly and not willing to help customers either because of laziness or bad work ethic. Thanks again Adam for all your assistance.
