Perfect replacement for 2015 Highlander Hybrid
Dave
in 3 years
My original Panasonic AGM startup battery started only holding ~9V charge. I jumped it once - that lasted a few months, but finally, I could not start the vehicle anymore - thus the ~9V. This one was a perfect replacement including proper vent hole placement for the vent tubing. Battery is installed in the hatch area, so needs to be vented. The vent holes on this one were a little small (plastic 90° coupling) would not go straight in, but that was easily remedied with a drill gun and drill bit just large enough to make the hole bigger on the battery - go in slowly just a little - all of a sudden a small piece of plastic in the hole will come out with your bit, then the coupling will fit right in. I re-attached the plastic shroud over the battery from the old one, and plugged the vent coupling into the enlarge hole, put a piece or two of electrical tape to hole the tubing from popping out (thought probably not necessary), and all done. Follow you vehicle instruction manual how to remove the startup battery and re-install it into position. Autozone was cheaper than other vendors - I also needed it quick. If you can, use another car so you can bring your old core with you - need to give it to them or there's a core charge. I called the store first, made sure they had it in stock - they told me they'd look for the order and set it aside, then I ordered it online and drove to go pick it up (with my old core for the exchange). I did it this way to get online shopping points from my CC. Overall experience went well - the small vent hole was really not a hassle - just drill the plastic slowly.

I bought it more than 2yrs ago because, I thought this is one of the best battery in the market even though it is a little bit more expensive than other batteries but I am so disappointed because it’s not even 3yrs and it is already get discharged so I am wondering if my there is something wring with my battery?
