      About

      2005 Toyota Prius Car Battery

To run your car's accessories and electrical systems while the engine is off and to give the engine a jolt of energy to turn over, it's equipped with a 2005 Toyota Prius battery. If you're having trouble with the electrical system or you need to boost your car to start it, it could be a battery issue. Fortunately, a simple battery replacement is often all it requires, and 2005 Toyota Prius batteries are readily available and competitively priced at AutoZone.

      2005 Toyota Prius Battery Size

Even for a hybrid car, the battery size makes a difference. Your car is built with a certain battery size and capacity in mind, and choosing a smaller battery or one with different dimensions isn't guaranteed to fit. The battery posts could be positioned incorrectly or it might be too tall and hit the hood, which isn't safe. Find the correct size by sorting the search results above with your vehicle information. Typically, a Group Size 46B24R is the intended size.

      Symptoms of a Bad Battery

Batteries usually last for three to five years before they need to be changed. When a battery reaches the end of its serviceable life, symptoms become evident such as dim or flickering interior and exterior lights, electrical systems that quit unexpectedly, a battery that needs to be jump-started, or slow cranking to fire up the engine.

Replacement Cost for 2005 Toyota Prius Battery

A battery for 2005 Toyota Prius models is easy to replace and takes a half-hour or less. Even if you choose to have a mechanic do the job, labor costs will be reasonable. The parts price can vary according to brand and style with options ranging from about $200 to $265.

Bought the battery online. Took the dying battery out before going to the store. The store tested the battery, confirmed it was bad and gave me the new battery and refunded credit for the old battery. Very nice. And the car starts up fine.

Handle on Top Made Installation Easy

This auxiliary battery was my second replacement in our 2005 Toyota Prius. There is not much room in the trunk to remove or drop in a new battery but this one came with a top handle to make it easier. The last replacement battery from another parts store did not have one and I had to place a rope under the battery in order to install and remove that one. Also, this battery has a 410 CCA rating with is higher than batteries that were available from other parts stores.

This battery controls the computer on the Prius hybrid. I have replaced it before and was aware of the remove and replace issues. This was a replacement under Autozone warranty. Went smoothly with no issues.
