Ford Explorer Starter
Replacing your Explorer starter motor ensures that you and your SUV are ready for any adventure. A reliable starter gets your vehicle going by consistently rotating the engine between 85 and 150 RPMs. Our engine starters use a 12-volt, high-amperage electric battery designed to turn your Explorer’s engine. Stop by your local AutoZone to consult with our friendly staff on what’s best for your vehicle and enjoy free diagnostic engine testing and battery charging. If you know just what you need, simply order online and have your products sent to your home with home shipping.

Comes with pigtail lead
Greg73
in 2 years
Starter fits as listed. The most important thing to remember is it comes with a lead or pigtail wire, crimp style butt splice connector and shrink tubing. Suggest removing the negative battery cable, propping up the starter onto something allowing for ease of cutting off the old starter solenoid connector, stripping just enough wire to fit into the butt connector, and crimping the wire into the pigtail. Make sure stripped wire does not extend beyond the black shrink tubing. Carefully lift the starter assembly into place and insert at least one bolt to keep it from falling while placing the other bolt into place and torque to spec. Consult instructions that come with the new starter for further information.
