      About

      2013 Honda Accord Starter

The 2013 Honda Accord starter is responsible for kicking off the engine revolutions that make your car run. This extremely powerful yet compact electric motor lasts for thousands of starts, but it could be the issue if you can't fire up your engine. Getting your Accord back in working order may only take a replacement car starter, and AutoZone has the selection you need to find the right part for your project.

      What is a Starter?

Car starters are essentially an electric motor that's used to start your engine into motion through its four cycles. Think of it like priming a pump. When the ignition is turned, a solenoid is powered and the spinning starter gear is engaged into the flywheel's teeth, forcing the engine to turn over. Since the engine isn't running when the starter is needed, it receives a full 12 volts of power directly from the battery.

      Signs of a Bad Starter

Sometimes, car starters last the car's whole lifetime. However, a Honda Accord 2013 starter may need to be replaced if it isn't working as designed anymore. Although other parts can also cause your engine to not start, some symptoms of failure include slow cranking, no cranking at all, a whirring noise if the starter spins but doesn't engage the flywheel, or a clicking noise when you turn the key.

Sometimes, tapping on the starter can get it working in an emergency. The only true repair is to replace the starter motor with a new one.

Best Starter For 2013 Honda Accord

Only a starter designed to fit the 2013 Accord exactly can be used. Anything else either won't work or can cause damage to your car and the new starter. Select a new or remanufactured starter from a trusted brand that includes warranty.

We carry all the parts you need to maintain and repair your car including the 2013 Honda Accord Sport starter, fluids, filters, and AutoZone batteries. Filter by year, make, model, and engine size to view only the parts that fit your car like the OEM, from trusted brands like Duralast and Bosch. Get your parts in hand quickly with Free In-Store and Curbside Pickup or choose Free Next-Day Delivery on eligible orders.

Getting the 12 volt nut on is the hardest part

Replaced bad starter, had already replaced neutral safety switch, but it turned out to be the starter. Intermittent no start, that was becoming worse. This is a relatively easy change although a Very tight fit to get the 12 volt nut back on.
