Subaru Forester Starter

Outdoor activities are even more fun, thanks to the maneuverability and power of your Subaru Forester. When the starter is no longer reliable, a single key turn doesn’t get you going. At this point, it’s critical to replace it with a new Subaru Forester starter from AutoZone to ensure top-notch performance for years to come.

When you turn the key, the Forester starter motor uses the vehicle’s 12-volt battery to turn the engine over. This needs to be strong enough to rotate the engine between 85 and 150 RPMs. If the battery isn’t fully charged, there isn’t enough power. We provide low prices on starters for Subaru Forester, as well as solutions to your automotive questions, thanks to AutoZone’s in-store, reliable staff. Opt for Same-Day Store Pick-up when you order online for added convenience, or benefit from home shipping.

Replaced the starter on my 20 year old Subaru Forester. Simple job. Took about an hour start to finish. The Duralast starter had a standard nut that held the positive cable from the battery. I reused the old 12mm metric nut from the Mitsubishi starter so I didn't have to change tools. Thread pitch was close enough. I don't expect this starter to last 20 years, but then again I doubt the car will last 20 more either now that I moved to the rust belt.

Works fine. Make sure you have the right tranny.

Works fine, no issues. Just make sure you get the starter for the correct transmission type of your car (e.g. automatic or manual) as the shrouds are different shapes. Also survived drilling out one bolt hole in the flange to support a larger bolt for a tapped out bolthole.
