2004 Toyota Camry Starter

When you turn your key to start your car, the starter takes power from the battery to crank the engine and get the car running. Without a functioning 2004 Toyota Camry starter, you may not be able to turn on your car. As with so many car parts, starters can eventually wear down and malfunction, potentially leaving you with an undrivable car. At AutoZone, you can find a starter for a 2004 Toyota Camry from all the top brands like Duralast and Bosch.

Signs of a Failing Starter

Starters usually fail at around 100,000 or 150,000 miles, at which point your car either won't turn on, or will have a difficult time turning on. If the starter is dying, you might notice smoke building from the engine when you try to turn the car on. It's also likely that the warning lights on the dash will illuminate when you turn the key, even if the engine isn't cranking.

How to Replace a 2004 Toyota Camry Starter

When replacing a 2004 Camry starter, begin by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery. Next, locate the starter, and detach the wiring, positive battery cable, and retaining bolts. Now you can remove the old starter. Transfer the heat shield, if your car has one, to the new starter, and put the starter in place. Reattach the bolts, wiring, and battery cables, and you're done.

You can find starters for any year, make, model, and engine size at AutoZone, where Free Next-Day Delivery is available on eligible orders. Same-Day In-Store or Curbside Pickup is also offered to get you back on the road quickly.

I used this product for a 2004 Toyota Camry XLE 4 cylinder with 311,000 miles on it. The part was fairly easy to install and started up right away. I liked the fact that the part had a lifetime warranty, even though it was a rebuild. That provides comfort to know, in case the part stops working.

      The Starter Works Well.

I purchased this starter for my 2004 toyota camry. I installed this a few weeks ago, and so far its been performing well. The only thing is that the electrical plastic connector tab doesn't click or snap in like on my original starter, so I'm concerned it all the vibrations during driving will jostle it loose. However, so far I haven't had any issue, but I'll be watching it to see if it comes loose.
