About
Toyota Tundra Starter

Your Toyota Tundra is the groundbreaking full-size pick-up truck that provides you with versatility, strength and performance. An old starter won’t give you the energy you need to turn your engine over and get you where you need to be, so replace your Toyota Tundra starter with a new one from AutoZone today.

Your Tundra starter motor is an important component of your rugged ride. An old starter doesn’t rotate your engine with high enough RPMs, causing a lack of electrical system power. Affected components include your Tundra’s safety switch, battery, anti-theft system, key fob and more. AutoZone’s mission is to provide the right products at the right prices so you can bank on maximized savings when you’re in the market for a replacement starter for your Tundra. Shop online and enjoy home shipping, or stop by your local AutoZone to get free battery charging and engine diagnostic testing today.

Excellent Price and Quality

Took my 2008 pickup truck to a local mechanic who was charging way too much for parts and labor. Doing some research I discovered that they were charging way too much for what they said would be a refurbished starter. A short time later, I visited my local Auto Zone and got a brand new starter for about $100 less than what the mechanic said their refurbished one was. Ended up taking my truck to another mechanic and had the brand new starter installed. Works perfectly.

Verify American-made vs Japan-made

Jared

All in all the product was great, but had some difficulty getting the right one on the first trip. My '03 Toyota Tundra requires a different starter depending on where the vehicle was manufactured (mine was in Indiana). Although I was clear about this in the store, the employees gave me the wrong one (and, to my own fault, I did not verify before leaving). Got it installed and it worked, but at a very high-pitch. I returned it with no difficulty and the employees were incredibly nice, humble, and apologetic about the mistake. We all make mistakes, and I think it speaks to the employees benefit that they make the experience much better than it otherwise could have been!

Tundra Starter

Chuckels

in a year

The original starter on my 2008 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L V8 failed at 135,000 miles. I purchased a new replacement from AutoZone at half the cost from Toyota. The job isn’t an easy one due to the fact that the exhaust system, including the manifold, had to be removed in order to get to it. This is the first Toyota that I’ve owned and have never had to do this on any of my previous vehicles. I had to go back and get exhaust system gaskets in order to finish the job. It took the better part of a day to complete the job (about 8 hours). Doing the job myself saved me about $600 in labor at the dealership. It’s been in for about a month with no issues. I hope it lasts another 135,000 miles or more before it needs replaced.
