I purchased this Duralast Vehicle/Transmission Speed Sensor SU1034 after the Engine, ABS and Brake lights suddenly came on as I was driving and I checked for error codes and got P0500. I couldn't discern whether it was the ABS Wheel Speed Sensor or the Transmission Output Speed Sensor from the information on the code so, I purchased and replaced both. I replaced the Transmission Output Speed Sensor first and this didn't take care of the warning lights. This sensor also appeared to be in good shape but, since it was 21 years old, I felt fine replacing it. I removed and replaced the ABS Wheel Speed Sensor located on top of the bell housing on the rear axle. This was definitely the culprit sensor as I found that it had separated into two pieces and a small piece of the bottom of the sensor was missing. The sensor is covered in plastic and the plastic had become brittle and weak over the years. After replacing this sensor, the warning lights went away and I was able to successfully clear the error code. Both of these sensors that I purchased at my local Auto Zone were exact replacements for the ones on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4.
