About
Ford Explorer Rear Brake Shoes
Brake shoes for Ford Explorer work with drum brakes, and they respond to your foot on the pedal by pressing against the drums to create the friction that brings the wheel to a stop. The resulting heat against the lining of the shoe wears it out eventually, so they need to be replaced regularly. AutoZone carries Explorer brake shoe sets that are designed to fit your drums, so they’re easy to swap out when the time comes. To make your DIY jobs easier, we provide the right products at the right prices.

Parking brake shoes and springs

Shoes an springs were same as factory parts., I pulled my axles out, because I had a leaky axle seal. Much easier to put the shoes on without the axles in. And you get to change your differential oil.

In my other review, I explained the difficulty at looking up the parts on the in store system vs the app on my phone. These shoes fit as they should and carry a walk in warranty, which you won't get with online stores. However, I find that the price for these shoes, which are only designed to keep a stationary vehicle, stationary, is a bit high. I really didn't have any other option, as I couldn't order and wait several days for less expensive shoes. I've been an Autozone customer since the last millennium and have purchased more than $50K in parts during that time.
