I have a 2006 Hyundai Elantra, I bought it in 2009 as a salvage from a private dealer and the car was great up until now. This is the first major issue I have had with the car.
The issue started when I noticed the fluid was low, I drove to the auto store and bought appropriate fluid and filled the resevior (actually over filled it). I know now after about a month of driving it that it was a mistake and I've since "basted" some of the fluid out. But the issue of squealing is still here. The symptoms are below
My problem is as follows
-Squealing on startup
-Squealing when turning the wheel at low speeds until engine heats up
-The issue happens every time I start the car while the engine is cold
I noticed what appears to be fluid coating the high pressure line leading from the pump nearly all the way to where the hose turns into the skinny line leading to the drive box.
With my car loan, I'm nearly up-ended so I don't want to put a bunch of money into repairs but if something like stop leak will work until I can trade it to a dealership around March would be great.
The belt is tensioned properly and is newish (8 months old)
