Hey Buddy you ever get that steering box replaced on your DODGE SUPER BEE?
My name is Chris I have a 69 Super Bee 383 CU IN 4SPEED. i bought it new in March 1969 for $4319.68 It's Cherry still and obviously my pride and joy. I still puinish it thru the 1/4 mi. Engine has been rebuilt twice and STEERING BOX replaced once. Today the car has 374,623 miles on it.
It's not hard to remove and replace, you do have to be careful and mark the splined shafts either up or down so you get the idler arms and steering wheel shaft on straight.again. other than that just drive out the pin and unbolt from the frame. They are heavy so be prepared, gear boxes back then were made of cast iron and not aluminum like today.... You mentione a quite alot of steering wheel play. be sure the Torsion Bars are adjusted corectly too. these have to be exactly the same because they raise and lower the front end.if not exactly the same you SuperBee will be like a Drunk Marine tryin to get back to the base. waving and staggering all over the road.
