      Honda Accord AC Compressor

With a long list of standout features that demonstrate why it's one of the most respected vehicles nationwide, your Honda Accord is especially noteworthy for its great handling and comfortable interior. This comfort depends in part on having cool cabin air at any time - guarantee this by swapping out your Honda Accord AC compressor with AutoZone.

An AC compressor for Honda Accord is the center of the vehicle's A/C unit and its job is to move refrigerant gases within the system. In order for it to function properly, one side must remain at high-pressure and the other should remain at a lower one. This pressure differential is crucial to the cooling process. AutoZone has the Accord air conditioning compressor you need, plus free battery charging and engine diagnostic testing at your store visit.

Stay Cool When the Temperatures Rise

There are many components at work in the air conditioning system of your Honda Accord, such as the condenser, evaporator, and some hoses. The compressor, however, is the component that keeps everything running. At AutoZone, we have the tools to test and replace your compressor, as well as guides to help you find the best ac compressor for Honda Accord systems.

What's Going on Inside the Compressor?

How does the compressor work? When you switch your AC on, a serpentine belt engages the compressor which acts as a pump that pressurizes a refrigerant and then passes that refrigerant on to an evaporator. Some of the most common problems with the Honda Accord air conditioning compressor are bad seals that lead to AC oil or refrigerant leaks. Sometimes, dirt, sludge, or other debris get into the system. When things go wrong in the air conditioning system, the compressor may stop working altogether. It may also break apart and send pieces throughout the adjoining tubes and other components.

      How To Recognize Trouble

Probably the most likely reasons for your compressor to fail are faulty seals and a lack of lubrication. Many experts recommend using your AC once in a while to keep seals lubricated and to protect them from drying up and leaking. You can tell that it's time to research the best replacement ac compressors when any the following symptoms appear:

      - A clicking sound located beneath the engine
      - The air coming from the vents isn't cold
      - The AC isn't working at all

Sometimes, auto owners find that warm air blows on one side of their vehicles while blowing cold on the other. This may happen if the hot and cold air systems are blended. When your air conditioning system isn't operating appropriately, it's a good idea to have it checked. You may find that a damaged AC compressor affects the heating in your vehicle once the weather turns.

Information You Need for Choosing an AC Compressor

To make sure you get the right ac compressor for your vehicle, you need several pieces of information. Of course, you need the make, model, and year of your Accord. Next, write down the car's production date (located on the sticker inside your driver's side door.) Jot down the part number if it's legible. With AutoZone's handy online parts finder, the make, model, and year may be enough, but having the rest of the info available means you can make an accurate purchase.

Remember there are many parts within the Honda Accord's air conditioning system. Any of these parts could affect the compressor, and a faulty compressor could damage those other components. With this in mind, it's important to recognize signs of trouble before further damage is done. Find the right ac compressor for your Honda Accord and the other parts and tools you need to complete repairs with our handy online guide.

Denso - A/C Compressor for 2005 Honda Accord

Installed just right. This one comes already charged with oil, which I thought was a bonus. I didn't realize until I pulled the old one out, that this is the same exact compressor (Denso) the factory installed. Not bad for under $400. This one comes with a much better 10mm nut than my original one. It is much easier to get to…you'll know what I mean when you do this yourself :) I really appreciate Autozone's loaner tool program. I borrowed the vacuum and gauges to vacuum the system before charging it back up. A significant savings for a tool I would rarely used if I purchased my own. All in all, I saved well over a $1,000 by doing this myself. I've had to do this on two different vehicles over the years now…thousands of dollars saved. Thanks for making this possible, Autozone.
