      Factory temp thermostat

It works! The t-stat fit into the housing, but the included rubber seal didn't. The seal fits around the t-stat edge and makes the diameter too large. I re-used the seal that was already there, on the top side to seal the upper housing. So far, so good!

not knowing that you need to burp the air out line

I replaced our 2008 Saturn Aura thermostat and let me tell you, its in a weird location, and how you have to get to it is a pain in the neck. and i had to do it twice because air will get in the lines and hose and cause your vehicle to over heat fast because no coolant is getting down to where it needs to go because all the air stopping it. i believe the term they use is burping it. some cars do it without doing anything and some will give ya a run for your money also some cars have a bleeder screw make sure you check to see if your car does, the saturn does not. this will help out from the start you turn it until you hear air hissing out and see bubbles then you tighten it back up make sure you turn the heat on in your vehicle while doing this.

      Did Not Mount Correctly

The thermostat fit great. However, the gasket that came with it did not. Ended up destroying the gasket because it would not seat correctly. Took it back, and was able to research the correct one; it’s called water inlet gasket in the system.
