Passenger Air Bag Off Light Meaning
The “passenger airbag off” light lets you know the airbag won’t fire in an accident. There are two reasons the SRS system will turn off the airbag. If the weight sensor in the seat doesn’t detect an adult, it will shut the system off. On most systems, the airbag comes on if there’s at least 90 lbs. of weight in the seat. Some vehicles, mostly trucks and two seat sports cars, let you turn off the airbag manually. This lets you safely mount a baby seat over the front passenger’s seat without worrying about the airbag going off.
