What does the security indicator light mean?
The security indicator light blinks when the key is out of the ignition. This means the immobilizer system is active. This keeps the engine from starting if someone tries to steal your car. Some cars also arm an alarm system. When you slide a key into the ignition, it checks the key’s chip. If it matches the security system’s code, the security light will turn off, and the immobilizer will disengage. If it keeps blinking, there’s something wrong with the key or the security system.
