PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
MagnaFlow's California-compliant universal fit catalytic converters feature the same American made stainless steel construction and high quality flow-efficient monolithic honeycomb catalyst as its Direct-Fit line. The main benefit of the universal catalytic converter is that one unit may cover a wide variety of vehicle makes and models. California-compliant universal fit catalytic converters are designed specifically for Pre-OBII & OBDII vehicles registered in the state of California. Use of a California-compliant converter is required within New York for 1993, 1994, 1996 and newer model year vehicles that have a California emission system. You can identify if your vehicle has a California emission system by checking your emission tag located under the hood, on the suspension tower or on the radiator shroud. If the emission tag says California anywhere on it, it is safe to assume your vehicle has a California emission system. Additionally, for all OBDII vehicles, it is imperative that the Engine Family Number (EFN), also located on the emissions tag, is checked against the converter's application listings to confirm your specific vehicle has been certified to use the part in question. Installing universal catalytic converters requires welding, cutting and tube bending, professional installation is recommended.
