The purpose of an O2 sensor for Chevrolet Malibu is to ensure the right amount of oxygen is allowed into the engine. Located in the exhaust pipe, it senses the oxygen levels and lets the car's computer know whether the fuel mixture is too rich or lean. Once this is adjusted accordingly, the engine is able to use fuel more efficiently while putting out fewer emissions. Used this product to replace my original oxygen sensor after online research and trouble shooting confirmed the old one had failed. The cashier at AutoZone gave me the good advice to replace the sensor with the engine hot after a recent drive which made it easy to unscrew the old sensor. Use gloves because it and the surroundings will be hot!!

I really loved that it came with its own warranty because the dealership was going to charge an arm and leg to provide it and install it.
