I replaced the unit when the factory fuel level sender quit working. I figured I might as well replace the whole unit since it's so hard to get to and the Jeep has 225k miles on the factory unit. The new unit looks different from the factory unit I pulled out of the tank, but I think it actually has a better design with two even springs instead of one lopsided spring and plastic sliding tabs. See photos.
