This is a good bang for your buck especially when compared to dealer prices. Remember that the automobile manufacturers do not make their own parts like filters. They usually use a supplier to manufacture their parts and components. There is no need to be overpaying for parts especially like filters.

Deciding on a lawsuit

This is not the correct filter for some engines. In particular, the Audi 2.7L bi-turbos found in the early 2000’s on A6 models, Avant, AllRoads, and a few others. The threads do not engage fully and the pressure can and did blow my filter clean off, causing immediate seizure of the engine. I am in the process of gathering information and having ASE-certified dealerships assess the situation and provide evidence. It does appear the oil pump’s pressure relief valve could have been faulty, causing a buildup of pressure, but with a stubby oil filter housing and this STP8994 filter, there has been several cases on the internet already documented where the filter blew off. I can’t believe I may have to sue Autozone for providing a part that caused engine failure.
