Chevrolet S10 Oil Filter

Your Chevy S10 uses an oil filter to remove contaminant particles from the engine oil as the vehicle is running. This process is essential to keeping your engine running smoothly, and a failure to change your oil and filter can lead to severe engine damage or even a complete breakdown. That's why it is important to change your engine oil and oil filter regularly, and AutoZone has a huge selection from brands like STP and Fram.

Every vehicle has a recommended service interval for oil changes, and you should always change your oil filter when you do an oil change. Most Chevy models have a recommendation of between 3,000 and 5,000 miles for oil changes in this era, but many mechanics will suggest a shorter interval, especially if you do a lot of hauling with your truck.

Replacing your oil and oil filter for Chevy S10 trucks is a simple job that any DIYer can handle. Start by using ramps or a jack and jack stands to lift and support the front of the vehicle. Remove the oil drain plug to drain the oil before you unscrew the filter and then lube up the gasket on the new filter before you screw it back onto the block of the engine. Replace the drain plug and refill your oil, using the dipstick to check levels.

I have used this filter in my truck engine which has over 270,000 miles on it and never even had the head off it. Recently i replaced the valve cover gasket and it definitely is the cleanest motor of many that i have ever seen.
