Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Oil Filter
It's good practice to change your oil filter every time you do an oil change, and the Chevy Silverado 1500 oil change interval is 7,500 miles. If you place extra stress on your engine like towing or hauling heavy loads or you drive in severe conditions, you may want to consider shortening that interval. Keep in mind that changing your oil and filter sooner is never a bad thing.

How to Replace Your Chevy Silverado 1500 Oil Filter
If you don't have enough clearance to do the job with the truck on the tires, jack up your truck and use jack stands to support the weight. Remove the oil drain plug to drain the oil, and once the oil is drained, you can remove the oil filter by unscrewing it counter clockwise. Add a small amount of oil to grease up the gasket on the new filter, screw it onto the engine, and replace the oil drain plug before refilling the oil.Find a great selection of Chevy Silverado 1500 oil filters at AutoZone, searching by year, make, model, and engine size for your truck. Direct replacement for OEM part

Same part as the OEM filter in manual and removed from truck. The extra length makes it easy to grab with a strap wrench. Still sits well above the oil pan guard. Appears to have a plastic inner core. Nice seal, which absorbed fresh oil and went on tight.
