Chevrolet Tahoe Oil Filter

Your Tahoe oil filter is a small cylinder that contains filtering media, designed to allow oil to flow through, but not the harmful particles that can damage your engine. As you rack up the miles, the filtering media gradually becomes saturated with contaminants and can no longer provide proper filtering, so this is when an oil filter change is necessary. Before that happens, change your oil and install a new filter from AutoZone.

The time interval between oil filter replacements is a simple relationship to your vehicle's oil changes. You should always change your oil filter when you do an oil change, and you can find your manufacturer recommendations for oil change intervals in your vehicle owner's manual. Many newer Tahoe models have an oil life monitoring system to let you know when it's due.

      Chevrolet Tahoe Oil Filter

How to Replace Your Chevy Tahoe Oil Filter

If you have good ground clearance, you may not need to lift the front end of the vehicle using ramps or a jack and jack stands. Locate the oil filter and the oil drain plug at the bottom of the oil pan. Drain the oil by removing the oil drain plug, then unscrew the oil filter from its mount and install the new oil filter with a thin coat of oil on the gasket. Replace the drain plug, top up the engine oil, and use the dipstick to check levels.

To find a great selection of Chevy Tahoe oil filters, search using the year, make, model, and engine size of your vehicle. Then select Same-Day In-Store Pickup or Free Next-Day Delivery on eligible orders.

ACDelco PF 48 oil filter alternate

      Gordon

      in 6 months

If you have an LS based (4.8l, 5.3l, 6.0l) in your Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe, the PF63 can be used as a larger alternative to the tiny PF48. Same threads, filter diameter, gasket dimensions, etc. but almost 1 1/4” taller. Gives you much more filter media to clean the particulates out of the oil. This filter, PF63, will give you better average filtration of your oil than the PF48 over the duration of your oil change.

      DIY oil filter STP

One thing I lined about this oil filter is the overall quality STP has to offer the material on the outside is very helpful to loosen and tighten because sometimes it can be a hassle to loosen, good thing that’s not the case with STP. I used this oil filter on my Tahoe that is since running smoothly
