Dodge Durango Oil Filter

The Dodge Durango has an engine with moving metal parts that use motor oil to move safely. Those parts take damage if there isn't enough oil or the oil isn't in good condition. A Durango oil filter is installed in the oil system to filter the oil and maintain its health for longer. Over time as the filter becomes filled, it must be replaced, or the engine will suffer and stop performing. AutoZone makes it easy to find Dodge Durango oil filters based on your vehicle's year, make, model, and engine size.

To replace your oil filter identify whether it's a cartridge or canister filter. When you have a cartridge filter, raise the hood of your Durango and unscrew the filter cap in the center of your engine cover Remove the cap, pull out the old filter and install its replacement before tightening the cap again. For a canister filter, raise your Durango off the ground and set an oil drain pan below the oil pan. Remove the oil plug and allow the oil to drain out. Replace the oil plug and remove the oil filter near the pan using a filter wrench. Install the replacement using just your hand to screw it into position.
