Ford F250 Oil Filter

Every Ford F250 pickup truck has an oil filter to clean any harmful particles from your engine oil during everyday use. Clean engine oil is essential to protect your engine during use, but oil filters become clogged and eventually fail if they aren't replaced frequently enough. That's why it's important to invest in the right Ford F250 oil filters, and AutoZone lets you know which parts to get based on your truck's year, make, model, and engine size.

Each Ford F250 has an oil filter near the oil pan. To access and replace the filter, set your truck on jack stands or ramps to raise it off the ground. Now, remove the oil drain plug and let oil fall into a carefully placed drain pan underneath. Reinstall the drain plug, and replace the oil filter using a filter wrench if necessary. Tighten the filter into position using only your hand, and then add the recommended amount of engine oil to your truck's engine under the hood using the oil filler neck.

How Often Should You Change Your Oil Filter?

It's best to replace the oil filter each time you change your truck's engine oil to maintain it well. Swap the oil and the filter every 3,000 to 5,000 miles for best results, or whenever the oil life monitor says it's due. I've used STP filters in the past and they seem to work just fine. This one fit my truck perfectly as expected.

I liked the convenience of going around the corner to my local parts store and there ability interchange a part number i had and have that part there the next morning, rather than having to drive around looking for a tractor supply to get a oil filter for a 60's Ferguson tractor
