Ford Ranger Oil Filter

A Ford Ranger engine has loads of moving parts, and all those parts require a regular oil coating to avoid damage during use. Motor oil coats components during use, but it only offers effective protection when it's in good condition. As oil ages, it accumulates harmful particles, and an oil filter removes those particles before they reach the engine. Regularly replace your Ford Ranger oil filter with the proper fitting part, and AutoZone has what you need based on your truck's year, make, model, and engine size.

Obtain the proper replacement filter and then install it on your truck to protect your engine. Begin by raising your truck on jack stands or a ramp. Set a drain pan under your truck's oil pan, and remove the drain bolt to let the oil out. Replace the drain plug, and unscrew the oil filter by reaching through the driver's side wheel well using a wrench to loosen the filter. Pull the filter and install its replacement. Add new motor oil to your truck, and you've effectively changed the oil and the filter.

When to Change Your Oil Filter

A Ford Ranger should receive new motor oil along with a filter every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Replace both at once, and your oil will remain clean over time and protect your engine effectively.

AutoZone offers different Ford Ranger maintenance parts, and some filters come with Same-Day In-Store Pickup or Free Next-Day Delivery to your home for more convenient replacements.

Inexpensive. As far as I know, it's doing as good a job as the more expensive ones. My truck now has over 300,000 miles and is still going strong.

It was a perfect fit. It looks to me made well. This is probably the oldest filter Motorcraft has made.
