Hyundai Sonata Oil Filter

Oil filters play a critical role in engine reliability by keeping motor oil clean and contaminant-free. Without a good oil filter, oil becomes dirty and loses its ability to reduce friction, which leads to increased wear on engine components. Conveniently, AutoZone has the greatest Honda Sonata oil filters.

It's easy to replace your Hyundai Sonata's oil filter. Start by lifting and securing the vehicle. Then, locate the filter next to the oil pan. Typically, it sticks out a few inches and looks like a can. To remove the filter, twist counterclockwise by hand and use an oil filter wrench if the filter is stuck. From there, insert the new filter and screw it into place until it's hand-tight. Because there are a few different oil filters used in Honda Sonatas, sort by year, make, model, and engine size for the right fit.

When to Change Your Oil Filter

Hyundai Sonata oil filters need to be changed ever three months or 3,000 to 5,000 miles, whichever comes first. Changing the oil filter with every oil change minimizes the risk of engine damage occurring. Black smoke coming from the exhaust, metallic sounds coming from the engine, and a drop in oil pressure are also indicators that your oil filter needs to be replaced.

The filtering capaility ( % of various size particles filtered, and dirt holding capacity) are both much better than most OEM filters. I am using this for a Hyundai Sonata. The only negative it does not use synthetic filter media afaik. (The High-ed Fram-s, the XG series do). But the specs are comparable. esp in the under 20 micron range, what really matters. A bit pricey
