The oil filter on your Nissan Rogue is responsible for filtering contaminants in the engine oil, allowing for optimal lubrication while preventing excess wear. Replacing the oil filter on your Nissan Rogue will require you to raise the car on a jack stand or ramp for easier access. Before replacing the filter, drain the oil from the engine by unscrewing the engine oil drain plug located on the oil pan. Once all the oil has been drained, use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter from its housing. Then, rub some fresh engine oil onto the new oil filter's gasket and screw it onto the housing using your hands. Make sure you refill the engine with the recommended amount of fresh oil before starting your car.
