      The Subaru OEM oil filter is exactly what I needed to change the oil in our 2020 Outback and 2019 Forester. I haven't changed my own oil in over 30 years, relying on our local Valvoline shop or our mechanic. However, with the Subaru oil filter on top of the engine, I was willing to try this and save $hundreds over the next few years. It was easy, only took about 20 minutes and most of all, saved a lot of money. When you consider the time required to drive to the oil change facility, wait in line for service, and wait for the actual oil change, I figured I also saved about a hour of time.
