Toyota Pickup Oil Filter

Without engine oil your engine will completely seize from the lack of lubrication within minutes. Without an oil filter though, the engine oil will ultimately lose its lubricating properties, leading to the same catastrophic result. You can now see why oil filters are just as important as the engine oil itself, and why they also need regular replacement. Luckily, AutoZone has you covered thanks to numerous Toyota Pickup oil filters for you to choose from.

On Toyota Pickup models equipped with a skid plate you want to start off by removing it and gaining access to the underside. Then, you'll need to remove the oil plug and drain the engine oil to prevent oil spilling everywhere when you take out the old oil filter. Once you've done all that, installed the new oil filter in, put the plug back in, fill up the engine with oil, and screw the skid plate back on if your vehicle has one.

      Toyota Pickup Oil Filter

When to Change Your Oil Filter

You definitely want to avoid using the same oil filter when you perform an oil change. That would defeat the purpose of an oil change since you'll be filtering that oil using a dirty oil filter. Always replace the oil filter when you're changing the oil for optimum engine longevity and durability.

Works, but not as good as the 90915-YZZG1

I bought this filter because I use only OE filters from Toyotas. Since the G1 was out of stock at the time, I used this. It's lighter, which isn't good and felt cheaper. When I was installing the filter, it definitely felt cheap. I felt the thin metal bend under my fingers when I was tightening the filter. I have doubts as to the filtering quality. This filter "works". How well, I do not know. If you can, get the G1 filter from Toyota. Much higher quality.

I have used this filter for three oil change intervals. After each oil change I detected seepage from the base of the filter where it contacts the motor. This has never happened before with other products.
