Regardless, you'll need to gain access underneath in order to drain the engine oil first period then, lift the hood and open the housing where the oil filter is, pull it out, and install the new one in its place using new o-rings. Then fill the oil in the engine and fire it up.

When to Change Your Oil Filter

The best time to change your engine oil filter is during an oil change. The interval depends on how and where you drive, as well as the oil you use. When you use synthetic engine oil, intervals can be as long as one year or 15,000 miles. For conventional oil, it's best to change the filter every three months or 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Consult your owner's manual for the best interval for you.

The filter only has a polygonal top to ease grip. It is not much, but sufficient for the relative easy access on the engine. A caveat with these filters is their bottom adaptor, attached to the black plastic ring visible at the bottom, that sometimes remains on the engine. If this occurs, it can be easily dislodged using an Allen key on the center orifice.

Wanted to try different American brands to see what worked and I came across this. Even after tracking and using for 4 to 5 thousands miles the filter seems to do a good job after inspection. Great pricing too so that helps.
