      Toyota Camry Timing Belt

One of the most important parts of your Toyota Camry's engine is the timing belt. It connects the crankshaft to the camshaft, allowing them to rotate in harmony. As the crankshaft rotates, it controls the movement of the camshaft, opening and closing the intake and exhaust valves at the correct times. Without a functioning timing belt, the intake valves will likely get stuck and collide with a cylinder, which can lead to serious engine damage. To keep this from happening you want to regularly replace your timing belts, and you can find options from reputable brands at AutoZone.

When Should the Timing Belt Be Changed on a Toyota Camry?

It's important to replace your Camry's timing belt before it breaks, as a broken timing belt can lead to needing an engine repair or rebuild. For most vehicles, the timing belt needs to be changed between 60,000 and 100,000 miles, though for some it's more than that. It all depends on the year, make, model, and engine size, so consult with your owner's manual to figure out the proper timing belt maintenance schedule for your car.

      Timing Belt Replacement Cost

The cost of having a timing belt replacement on your Camry varies. It's usually around $500, but can be a little cheaper or a lot more expensive. If you decide to do this maintenance task at home, a new timing belt will cost you from $35 and up.

You can purchase a timing belt at AutoZone, where Free Next-Day Delivery is available on eligible orders. Same-Day In-Store or Curbside Pickup is also offered to get you back on the road quickly.

      Still no leaks

The original waterpump had a thin gasket with no sealer, so it was a cinch to clean and prepare. This pump comes with a thicker paper filter and in my opinion needs sealant. I applied permatex sealant and the pump is still working with no leaks.
