      Toyota Corolla Timing Belt

Your Toyota Corolla's timing belt is one of the most important parts of the engine. The timing belt connects the crankshaft to the camshaft, ensuring that they rotate together to create the optimal timing for the engine. As the crankshaft rotates, the timing belt turns the camshaft, which opens and closes the intake and exhaust valves. Without a good timing belt, the camshaft won't rotate properly, and the valves will likely get stuck. This can cause a collision with the cylinder that can lead to severe engine damage. Because of this, it's important to replace your Corolla's timing belt a the right interval, and you can find options from the top brands at AutoZone.

When Should the Timing Belt Be Changed on a Toyota Corolla?

You always want to replace your Corolla timing belt before it breaks. If your belt snaps, it can cause damage that may leave you needing an engine repair or rebuild. The average car needs a timing belt replacement every 60,000 to 100,000 miles, but it all depends on the year, make, model, and engine size. To determine when your Corolla should have the timing belt changed, consult the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual.

      Timing Belt Replacement Cost

Most timing belt replacements are around $500 including parts and labor, though they can vary a bit in either direction depending on the car and the mechanic. Timing belts for Toyota Corollas can cost less than $25 if you decide that you'd like to try this maintenance task on your own.

At AutoZone, you can purchase a timing belt with Same-Day In-Store or Curbside Pickup. Free Next-Day Delivery is also available on eligible orders.

Check box before you start the job

      in 7 days

Ordered part was missing o-ring and bolts. AutoZone was great and ordered a new one but had to come from vendor leaving my car on jack stands for 8 days to get there. No fault of theirs though more upset with the vendor.

      No more leak

      Evan

      in a year

My 2009 car still had the factory water pump, a testament to the craftsmanship to Toyota it lasted so long. Technically the pump was still working but the gaskets were all rotted out and it was probably a matter of time it would completely fail, I saw the leak. My mechanic offered to order one but I knew there would be an upcharge for something i can get. I went to the toyota website to get a price comparison of oem and the pump is discontinued. Did some more shopping and found the best deal at AutoZone for Duralast which I know is quality brand and since i bought it I have the warranty.
